We’re Parents Too.
We understand that any new communication tool in an educational environment comes with important questions about safety, focus, and purpose. Our mission is simple: to provide a secure, distraction-free way for parents and their children to stay in touch during the school day. This is not a social network, it is not a group messaging app, and it is not a platform for casual chatting - it is a direct parent-to-student communication tool, and nothing more.
Early statistics have shown that phone bans are GREAT FOR KIDS. And we agree! We’re just trying to connect parents and kids for simple communication throughout the day. Through our own research on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, the overwhelming response to cell phone bans is great, with the one caveat being kids and parents wish they could stay in touch.
It also removes the burden of teachers getting constant emails from parents about the day to day basic needs of kids, that would normally be conveyed via text.
In a recent poll with teachers from Massachusetts, they explained to us, that there was a definite increase in unnecessary emails from parents since phones we removed from class. InSchool.me eliminates that.
The founders of InSchool.me are parents too. We get it. We’ve been in the daily shuffle of rides, sports practices, dinner choices, last-minute schedule changes, carpools, random lockdowns, and everything in between. We created InSchool.me because we wanted a safe, quick, and reliable way to reach our kids during the school day - without adding distractions or opening them up to unsafe online spaces.
Built with Safety First
No images, videos, or external links - the chat is text-only, ensuring conversations stay appropriate and purposeful. 😊 Emoji’s are okay!
Two-step authentication for all accounts, so only verified parents and students can access a chat room.
Private and secure - no public forums, no friend requests, no searchable profiles.
No Distractions for Students
The app is intentionally minimal and focused - just a straightforward parent-to-student messaging channel.
There are no notifications for unrelated activity, no games, no feeds, and no “scrolling” features to pull students away from class.
Communication is designed to be quick, purposeful, and only when needed.
Options for Schools & Districts
If a school or district is interested, InSchool.me can be customized to add important dates, announcements, and reminders directly into the app, reducing bulky email chains and making it easier for families to stay informed. This optional feature allows schools to streamline communication in a way that works for their specific community.
We believe InSchool.me can help bridge communication without disrupting learning. Schools can feel confident that the tool is safe, focused, and built with both student privacy and educational priorities in mind.
